Girls are pretty fun too....

The other day we invited Holiday and Eden over to play...and for some reason, before they showed up, Jackson was insistent that Ben needed to come too...because - as he worded it "Holiday and Eden are GIIIIIRRRRLS..."  I thought to myself, where the heck is that coming from?  Obviously, he has heard that at school or something but Ben wasn't able to come, so I had to sit down and talk to J... I asked him if Holiday is his friend - "yes."  and Eden? "yes." - Then why does it matter that they are girls?  He looked at me - only the way that Jackson can - and said "ok mommy - it's ok."  I was a little sad for a minute thinking I must have missed something somewhere... Then Holiday and Eden showed up and he proceeded to having the best time ever.  They ran and played and jumped and climbed and had little "meetings" and sweet Ethan just tried to keep up.  I am relieved that Jackson has put the boys/girls thing to bed.  I do want him to understand boys and girls ARE different but girls don't have cooties no matter what other kids say.  Girls are pretty fun too!! :)

THE Farm.

On Monday, our babysitter Sara invited us to her parents' sprawling farm to see all the new baby animals that have arrived this spring!  We are a family of animal lovers, and the weather could not have been more perfect.  The boys got to play with baby chickens, goats, a horse and a rabbit!  Then, they took us on four-wheelers to the creek to play there.  The grounds are insanely beautiful - just a perfect example of how gorgeous it is in Arkansas!  The boys and I had such a great time!  

Sara is the oldest of 7 kids and two of her sisters showed us the ropes along with her little brother Zac.  Zac and Jackson are only 1 week apart, so they became fast friends!  I hope we get to go back again soon!!!

The chickens were Ethan's favorite!  He liked the horse from afar-  he objected to sitting on it... but I think playing in the creek was his favorite thing!  Jackson, of course, tried to kiss the chicken and loved chasing the goat.  :)

Ethan loved the freedom to run and I did too... I didn't have to worry about him running out infront of cars or anything... I let him roam around and he pretty much stayed close to the baby goat.  :)  I love the country!!

 Ethan is right at home being outside - I think he could live outside... despite how red his little cheeks get.  :)  He explored everything in that water... .getting soaked but he didn't care... :)

 We absolutely LOVE Sara... I mean, it is truly a gift when she watches our boys... I never worry about a single thing.  I hope we get to keep her for a long long time...

When Ryan got home, Jackson told him all about his fun adventure to the farm.... the highlights being "playing with Zac" and also "giving the horse a bath"(there was a trough w/ water in it - and I presume he means splashing the horse w/ water from the trough.).  Ryan found this pretty funny....

Sara, Sophie, Chloe and Zac - and all of the family - thank you so much for having us out to your beautiful farm and sharing your animals with us!!

"All By MYSELF!"

Jackson's new thing is that he won't let you help him get dressed anymore... and lately, he wants to pick out his clothes and put them on "all by myself, mom!"  So - yesterday, I let him pick out the clothes and get himself dressed before coming downstairs for breakfast... I figured, we have no where to go today so why not... this should be interesting!   To my surprise, he actually picked out something that matched!!  Experiment successful!

When we went to Chuck E Cheese a few weeks ago, we took these pics on the little machine there - and I forgot to post them!  I wish it would've been on video because getting these boys (and Haley) to be still long enough for the machine to "draw" these was a funny sight in itself. 

Hanging out with Rylee Roo.

My good friend from Little Rock Darcy and her precious little 13 month old baby girl Rylee drove up this week to spend the weekend w/ us!  We had the most fun and really, we didn't do that much.  It's just fun to get together and let the kiddos play and be cute.  Ethan started saying Ry-ee - which is pretty impressive for a 20 month old's vocabulary!  Both of my boys loved having her here.. but not as much as me.... I may steal her someday.  :)

20 MONTHS!

Come ON!!!!!  It has NOT been 20 months since this little guy was born - cannot be!  I cant believe how much he has added to our lives.  He is absolutely amazing in every way.  I'm thankful God made him exactly who he is... and I'm thankful He gave him to me!  :)  Love you baby boy.  (Moms of grown children tell me that I get so call him my baby as long as I want!)

Sand Memories.

We LOVE Spring and when we pulled out our sand toys, there was white sand still in them from Destin last year... AWH.... Great fun and priceless memories.

Holy Jeans!

Jackson  is a typical boy - rough, fast and busy.  He falls down all the time and puts holes in the knees of his jeans.  Last fall, I put J 7 new pairs of jeans to get him through the fall/winter months.  Jackson has officially put a hole in the knees of his last non-holy pair.  Yes, you read that right.  7 pairs of jeans w/ big holes in the knees in just 6 mos!  I told Ryan that I hoped he didn't plan on me being able to pass any of Jackson's jeans down to Ethan!  There's none left!  :)  Nonetheless, what a fun boy he is.  You can't help but fall in love with him!

 

Preppy Boy.

Since it's such warm weather, I had to dig out Jackson's 18mo-24 mos summer clothes the other day and when I did, I found this adorable little hat... Unfortunately it was in the wrong tub and it's too small for Ethan... but I had to get one wear out of it - even though it didn't fit all the way around his head.... It's still adorable on my little curly headed boy.  :)
