Jackson's 9 Month Doc Appt

Well - we had good news and bad news.... Good news is that Jackson is a healthy little boy! He weighs 20 pounds, 6 oz, 27.5 inches long. He is in the 50th percentile for height and weight and 75th percentile for head circumference. He looked absolutely adorable (as usual)! His little cold is better... much better, but the doc didn't like how raspy he still sounds after 10 days... So he gave J an antiobiotic and also asked us to do a breathing treatment w/ him... haha.. he screamed bloody murder for the longest 10 minutes ever... Ryan and I both had to restrain him while he screamed... He said that he suspects that this is all caused from the cold and nothing to be concerned about but when he asked if we have asthma in our families, I got a little concerned. We don't - but Jackson has always sort of had funny sounding breathing.... Anyway, he gave us a prescription for an inhaler so we'll start that today and hopefully, it will all just "fix" itself. This is Jackson's first cold, so I definitely don't like this - but I just pray he doesn't have anything serious (like asthma)... Here's some pics from the doc's office...

My Latest Creation...

I love the furniture setup that we have in our office (with our desk being in the middle of the room), but I have always hated how our mess of computer wires was in plain sight - it was quite an eyesore. I have been wanting to do something about it, but it took Jackson yanking on all the wires every day for me to actually do it! Here are some pictures of yet another project that I think came out pretty darn good! =)

Here is what it looked like before (kind of...). In this picture, I have already cut a hole in the desk and ran the bundle of wires through a grommet. Before I started, all those wires were just hanging over the back of the desk - YUK!

Here are all my pieces of wood with all of my cut lines marked.

I sanded down all 4 edges of the cabinet until they were round. I didn't want Jackson to hurt himself (as badly) if he were to bump into one of them!

Keisha took this very flattering picture of me as I was cutting the pieces! I used that big round chair as a template for the curved 'heat vent' that I cut into the back piece, by the way...

I spray painted the pieces black to match the desk.

I installed the cabinet in sections. Both of the side sections had a 'half door' attached to them. I used floating hinges like you would find on kitchen cabinets - that made the doors really easy to open and close.

Finally, the back goes on to seal the whole thing shut.

NO MORE WIRES SHOWING!!! YEAH!!!!

9 Months Old Today!

My angel is feeling much better... thank goodness! I came home from being in NWA this weekend while Daddy was home w/ the baby. When I came in, Jackson saw me and smiled, let me hold him for a sec, but then wanted his Daddy back! YIKES!!! He's just "DA DA" nonstop now... I would think that it would frustrate me, but it's too cute to just hear him talking...so I don't mind... plus, it makes his DA DA very very happy! Here are some recent pics of Baby J.... wanted to share. :)

His favorite thing to do is to pull himself up and stand up. Lately, he's been letting go for about 5 -7 seconds without holding on!! Time is winding down before my little man is walking!

After we got good news from the doc that Jackson is ok... just has a cold. :)

Jackson's first experience with juice. He didn't like it.... So, we're going to keep trying. He seems to never like things the first time he tries them... Not much in favor of change... hmm.... did he get that from his momma?


Jackson met his other GREAT-Grandma on Friday. You can tell he isn't feeling well just by looking at his little face... His nose was running and he was coughing, but he still managed to be such a good boy!

Great job on this pic Ryan! It's like they are saying "I'm not letting down... Well, I'm not letting down either.... let's play chicken!" :) Sorry Jackson - Hobbes WILL WIN... at least until you're walking!

Poor Baby J...

My sweet little angel! What a rough couple days... He was up every single hour last night coughing and crying. His cough is so yucky and his nose just runs and runs... He had a fever of 100.4 earlier today, but I gave him some tyllenol so that seemed to help. The doc (not my regular doc) said he appears to just have a cold and needs some time... He said I don't need to worry until he has a high fever... So I'm hoping and praying he will feel better fast. This is his first experience with being sick, so I'm not handling it too well. I don't know how moms do it with really sick babies.... I just don't know if I'm that tough. I pray I never have to find out.

Taking Baby J to the doc...

My poor sweet Jackson... He isn't feeling well.. he has a nasty NASTY cough and it has been affecting his sleep and eating... It sounds like it's in his chest, so I'm taking him to the doc! Dr. Rodgers will fix him! :) Pray for me - I need patience and strength... I think I feel more pain when he hurts than he does.

Ryan's Dad and Debbie have a little dog named Isabelle - she's very very cute and VERY used to little boys... So she definitely knew how to make Jackson giggle! She makes it sound like she is upset but she's totally just playing with him and if you listen, you can hear J-Man gigglin up a storm!!

Although he was a bit distracted by the camera on the floor, Jackson managed to squeek in some pretty cute giggles! He thinks when things fall off his head, that's hilarious! So I had to capture it! I absolutely LOVE his laugh! You can't help but not laugh too when he laughs!

Getting re-adjusted...

We are back in Little Rock now... Ryan and I left for NWA on Saturday morning and just got back yesterday. He was in Tampa for most of that time, but I stayed and hung out.... We had a good time - Jackson sure does love all the attention he gets when we go! On Wednesday, I got to go the basketball game with 2 of my favorite people in the world - Steph and Sarah... We spent most of the game talking and catching up, but we watched the last (sadly) part.... I SOOOOOO miss hanging out w/ my buddies, but I'm learning to adjust to life in Little Rock. Ryan and I are having 2 of our GREAT friends (Eugene and Darcy) over tonight for dinner and games and we LOVE that! I am definitely looking forward to that! Here are some pics from our trip to NWA.

On the drive to NWA, we usually have to stop at least once and let J stretch.... He loves to pretend he's driving and I thought he looked pretty cute w/ my shades on!
