So Jackson's birthday is Monday.... and his very best friend Ben's was yesterday.... and about a year ago, Emily and I made a pact - we agreed that we wouldn't buy either of them a Power Wheels until they turned 3... and we'd do it at the same time. These boys are much too much like brothers for one of them to have it and the other not to.... so today was the day. Finally, some sun outside.... perfect 75 degree temperature.... a perfect day to get his one-and-only big present from mommy and daddy.... his very own, 2 seater (we do have 2 boys, ya know!) 2011 Black Ford F-150.
Here's how it went down....
We covered up the car.... and I brought J outside to unveil his mystery present... then Ry got video of him (too long to post.) To say the least, he didn't know how to react. He didn't really understand what it was and what he could do with it....
But it didn't take him long to figure it out!! He was a pro from the beginning... I mean, really he had it figured out pretty quick... Stop, go, reverse... oh, and how to work the radio. LOL... yep - it has it's own REAL radio!

He kept saying "I have a truck like Daddy!"

So Eden, our neighbor, saw Jackson playing outside from her house, so her mommy brought her over and Jackson's first words to her "Hey Eden, want to ride in my truck!?" How cute is that!!?
So they really got going!!!
But being the perfect little boy that he is, Jackson knew the one thing his truck was missing...
was a BIG...
ROCK! Of course!! Hello!!! He is a boy, ya know!
So off they went, hauling his giant rock.
And pretty proud of himself, I must add. Josh, Heather, Ryan and I were talking about how we are seeing the future being played out right here.... Eden jumping in the truck w/ Jackson when he's 16.... So cute.
THEN!! Out of HER window, Holiday could see that she was missing out on the party!! So they hiked over to our house and Jackson got to take ANOTHER pretty girl for a ride!!! WHOA!
FINALLY!! Ben came over with his new wheels!!!
But it wasn't long before Jackson decided he needed to be riding with Ben...
Which was fine with Holiday... I love this... Boys in one and girls in another.... Priceless memories.
Finally, the girls left the boys to do their job....chase each other around in their new power wheels.
So that's just what they did.
For a little while anyway - these sweet boys have been best buddies and neighbors for a year and half.... They were 18 little months old when they met and boy, have they really grown since then. I love watching them grow up... Can't believe they are 3 years old.
Ethan finally woke up from his nap and wanted in on the fun...
but he's still too little to get in the truck w/ big brother.... soon though, sweet baby boy.
These two amazing beautiful girls will probably be the boss ladies of the neighborhood soon. We hope so anyway - Jackson and Ben need some girls to keep them straightened out... In the meantime though, they will continue to get their pose on. :)
And now there are 3. Silo Falls, watch out people! You better start driving slower through this neighborhood!! We have tiny drivers on the road now!! :)
The best is yet to come!
Yesterday we had two birthday parties to go to! Two of our neighbors' children were born on the exact same day (and year!) - Ben and Carlie. Funny part is that they live about 3 houses down from each other... what's the chance of that? Anyway - Carlie's birthday party was at Fast Lanes (same place we are having Jackson's) - Ben's was immediately after at their house. Jackson was stoked since he has never been bowling and we drive by Fast Lanes every day.... Needless to say, he was willing to take a good nap with the promise of two cool birthday parties after he wakes up!
