First Day: Bridge

Jackson had his first day of school today!  He's in the Bridge program - which is a fusion of preschool and kindergarten - 5 days a week, but half days instead of full days.  I get to keep my firstborn my 'baby' just a tiny bit longer before he goes to the dreaded... Kindergarten!  :)  He absolutely loves his school (he attended there last year too) and has the sweetest teacher!  I am so happy for him and the growth I know he will experience this school year!  Last night, he insisted that Ryan give him a mohawk like Ethan has... So funny.  Guess he saw how much attention Ethan was getting with his.  He cracks me up!

His teacher is Mrs. Holly and she's amazing!  I am so thankful we got her!  This morning, Ryan and I walked him into his class... Which he was completely unphased by... We walked in at the same time as the Burrow's so he and Ben walked ahead of their little brothers - obviously old hat to them.. When we got to Jackson's room, he just walked right on in, sat down like he owned the place and waved us off.  It's bittersweet.

It's been a Popsicle Summer!

Everytime they go outside - everytime - they ask for popscicles.  

I guess my "you can only have Popsicles when you're outside" rule has really stuck.  :)

Getting our Searcy Fix.

So about a month ago, we asked the Searcy's to come over for dinner... They were going to be out of town for Ethan's birthday, and we wanted to recreate his birthday fun so Ethan could still have all that fun with his best buddy Lily.  Of course, Jackson was stoked to have his partner in crime Cole there too! Ryan has fun setting up our backyard with things for the kids to do... So we had the bouncy house set up, the big water slide and a canopy with tables to eat and relax... We fixed fried tacos and had so much fun!  The kids loved the water balloons and at the end of the night, the daddies joined in for a very very fun water gun fight.  I took a thousand pics because it was just so much fun to watch!!  I think we need a repeat soon!!

Rolly Polly

On Tuesday, Ryan and I came back from a trip (I'll post on that later) but when I got back, I noticed my baby sleeping like this!  Um... when did this happen?  My mom said that the whole time we were gone, he kept rolling to his back, but unable to move back to his belly, this would make him angry and she'd go in there and roll him back to his belly and he'd go back to sleep.  She said she was doing this 4-5 times a night sometimes!!  UGH! No way... My baby is growing up too fast!!!  Time to practice rolling back-to-belly!

Angry Birds Love.

Jackson is madly in love with Angry Birds these days.  Ryan and my iPads both include: Angry Birds, Star Wars Angry Birds, Space Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds RIO - and those are just the ones I can think of.... Jackson is addicted.  It's worked a bit to our advantage because it's usually the first thing we take away from him when he's being disciplined and it works wonders.  It's absolute torture for him to not get to play.  We limit his iPad playing time greatly, so he doesn't get much time anyway, but it is definitely a bribe I use if I have to take them shopping or to a doc appointment.  He was recently grounded for about 3 weeks from Angry Birds, and while this was devastating for him, he took an interest in drawing them during this quiet time each day.  I must admit that I'm SO impressed with his drawings! We also have AB puzzles, figurines, 2 Angry Birds games that he got for his birthday that he plays with almost every day, and for Ethan's birthday, Ethan got an Angry Birds playdoh game - which I believe Ryan enjoyed as much as the boys!
