2 Week Pediatrician Visit

On Monday, we took Ethan to his 2 week pediatrician visit for a weight check. YAY for Ethan - he weighs 7 pounds, 12 oz!!! He was born 7 pounds, 2 oz and we left the hospital at 6 pounds, 12 oz - so he's put on a pound since we left the hospital! WOOHOO! I know this is probably normal for most moms but with Jackson, he was rapidly losing weight by his 2 week check and the docs were "concerned" about his weight loss - so for me to have a baby that's gaining right now - what a relief! He's so sweet too! I'm falling more and more in love with him every day! He smiles as he falls asleep which is, of course, something a mom cannot get enough of! He has the biggest eyes - which are getting darker, so I'm guessing they will turn to brown too... his hair is much more red than Jackson's ever was - and he has the best color to his skin... gorgeous! He is peeling like crazy and has developed a little baby acne, but that's to be expected. He also has these horrible hiccups - which the doctors say is ok but concerns me cuz he gets them like 6 or 7 times a day! He also has a nervous tummy... his belly has this rolling sound constantly.... so the doc said he may be developing a little case of reflux and so, since we're moving him to formula, he suggested Similac Sensitive - which is what we had Jackson on too. Overall, he barely cries... and he sleeps great! He goes to bed about 11pm - wakes up around 230am to eat, back to sleep and then wakes up again around 630am. He's just precious. I'm SO incredibly blessed.

Jackson - is doing amazing! He loves his baby brother and so far, has been SUPER gentle and kind to him. He is, of course, a toddler so he gets rowdy occasionally but we're working on that and it's going to get easier for me to balance my two angels soon. Jackson still calls him "E-fy" and says good night to him every night - whether he's in the room or not - so that tells me he's starting to understand that Ethan is a permanent part of our family. He doesn't seem to be jealous or anything.... I just know that they will soon be the best of friends!

Ethan Meets Uncle Ray!

My baby brother FINALLY stopped by to meet his new nephew... Of course, he couldn't be too serious for the pictures - so he had to have a boppy around his neck... why? "because this it's comfortable!" This time, I can honestly say though - Ethan is NOT a clone of his uncle Ray... unlike his big brother. :) He's looking more and more like his daddy every day! Check out this red hair! So cute :-)

OK - so the consensus from everyone is that "Ethan looks like Ryan." Ryan and I agree though - Ethan looks like Jackson! I think everyone has forgotten what our little stinker looked like before his eyes turned brown and hair grew cute and curly... Visitors at Home!

We have the most amazing friends and family that a person could ever imagine! We have not had to cook one single time since we've been home because of all of our friends' generosity and love! Thank you guys so much for coming to meet our new sweetheart and for taking such great care of us! We love you!

We missed a picture w/ my friend Heather who brought us a HUGE dinner on Thursday and our neighbors Richie and Lisa again! We'll get them eventually! Thanks to them for dinner... Also Jenny Searcy who brought us dinner AND homemade peach cobbler! YUM!!! I'm blown away at how kind people are... WE ARE SO BLESSED!

More Hospital Fun!

We left the hospital on Wednesday around 3 or 4 pm. Ethan only lost a few oz by the time we left - he was 6 lbs, 13 oz when we left, so that made me feel great... especially since he had 12 poopy diapers in the short 40 hours or so that we were there... I was SO ready to head home to get in my own bed and get our family together!

Ryan's mom - who lives in Milwaukee - sent us these beautiful flowers to the hospital. We're excited about seeing her next week!

My mom made me a HUGE tub of chocolate chip cookies w/ extra chocolate chips -my favorite!

One of my best friends in the whole world - and my college roommate - Stephenie came to visit w/ her beautiful baby girl Abby. :)

I love these pictures that Ryan captured... Poor little Ethan's skin was just flaking off. The pediatrician said that means he was ready to come out.. I'd say so!
