Holiday came over for a visit the other day since it was snowing outside and of course, Jackson was thrilled! She wanted to see his room (uh-oh?) so we went in there and she was very excited to see "The Cat In The Hat" in his room because she said she knew that book very well... The next thing we knew, Lisa and I were talking and turned around and this is what we found. She was basically reading the book to him and he was a great listener. :) I wish I would've had a video camera on hand, but Lisa and I decided we would mentally take note of this adorable moment between two great friends. :)

True Blessings.

i am in awe every single day that God has blessed me with these two precious babies. i have no idea what in the world i have ever done to deserve these sweet boys but i'll never go a day where i don't thank God for them. they make my heart so proud!

My silly boy!

Jackson told me he needed to play blocks because he needed to build Tidmouth Sheds for his "big Thomas" and "big Percy." So Tidmouth Sheds needed a tower... of course! And along the way, he gave me some of his new "smiles" - which he does while saying "CHEEEEEESE" everytime he sees the camera.

Cheesin' BIG time! So happy with his creation!

Getting Big Percy situated... may have caused the tower to fall....

Hence, making my little man mad!

Not just a little mad...

But REALLY REALLY mad!

Uh-oh - it's officially moved on to a temper tantrum. Jackson is very serious when it comes to his trains. Lesson learned: When building Tidmouth Sheds, have Big Percy already resting his wheels and build the shed and the tower around him. :)

So precious!

So this was a pretty interesting thing. So I was cleaning out closets upstairs and Jackson came over to see what I was up to... I had these baby dolls from Eugene and Darcy's baby shower and Jackson saw them sitting there... I had a feeling that something worth capturing may happen so I grabbed my camera - which is never far away! :) I have never seen my sweet boy show any interest in babies - it took until the last month or so for him to notice he has a baby brother. So to see him pick up these dolls, completely unsolicited, so carefully and slowly put her on his shoulder and pat her back... he even braced her neck! I was BLOWN AWAY! And sooooooooo proud! He DOES watch what we do and he DOES pay attention!

I couldn't have been more proud of my baby boy!

Even with chocolate on his face...

And then, he was like, "ok mommy go play choo-choos." And those dolls dropped like yesterday's newspaper. And off he went. awh... well, he's only 2 1/2! :) At least he left them laying on their backs!

Ethan's First Day of MDO!

BOTH of my precious baby boys went to Mother's Day Out today!!! I was elated when the director called me a couple weeks ago and said there was a spot on Monday's for Ethan! All I could think of was OH MY - I'm going to have FIVE FULL FREE hours once a week!!!!!!!!! Do you know how much this momma can do in 5 hours!!? A LOOOOOOT!

Ryan joined me to drop the boys off and meet their teachers... and I'm so glad he did! I didn't cry like I did when I dropped off Jackson the first time, but Jackson was 20 mos old the first time he went to Mother's Day Out and Ethan's not even 6 mos old... so I think putting him in MDO early on like this is wise. Jackson used to get terrible stranger anxiety and would freak if anyone other than me, Ryan or my mom would hold him... so I'm hoping to prevent that type of anxiety with Ethan. I want him to be friendly and not scared of others... :)

I must say, he looked completely and totally ADORABLE! Thanks to Aunt Carla for his super cute outfit!!!!

And got a great report card, just like his big brother always gets!

Papa and Ethan!

Last night, Ryan's dad and Debbie were in town for a wedding, so they stayed the night w/ us and got to visit w/ the kids a little today... It was really nice seeing them w/ our boys... I LOVE this pic of Darryl and Ethan!!! He is definitely all "papa" when his grand boys are around! :)
